Arnab Goswami is a famous Indian journalist, who tried to change the rules of Indian journalism. He was a chief editor and news anchor of the Indian news channel Times Now. He is known as one of the most popular TV journalists in India. Besides, he is considered the best one among the pioneers of a media culture. The ‘News Hour’ is the most watched live debate news program in India, which is presented by him at 9 pm during weekdays. ‘Frankly Speaking with Arnab’ is a special TV program. He was born on 9 October 1973 in Guwahati, Assam. Arnab was brought up as a member of well known Assamese Brahmin family. His father Manoranjan was Colonel in the Indian army and his mother Suprabha, was a homemaker. Rajani Kanta Goswami was an independent activist, lawyer and a well known leader in the National Congress Party. He was the paternal grandfather of Arnab. His maternal grandfather, Gauri Shankar Bhattacharya was a leader in the opposition political group of Assam and won an Asam Sahitya Sabha Award as a writer.
As a son of an army officer, he attended different schools. Arnab completed his degree in Sociology from the Hindu College. In the year 1994, he completed his post graduation in Social Anthropology from Oxford University. Arnab Goswami has begun his journalism career in The Telegraph at the city of Kolkata. In 1995 he shifted his career to broadcasting daily news at NDTV 24 X 7, where he hosted as a news anchor in DD Metro. Arnab was also the anchor of News night, in which he won an award for the Best News Anchor of Asia 2004.
From 2006, he is the chief editor and anchor of of the Times Now news channel. Where he has taken interview of many great personalities such as PM Narendra Modi, Rahul Bajaj, Rahul Gandhi, Parvez Musharraf. Combating Terrorism: The Legal Challenge is a book written by Goswami. Late Bhupen Hazarika is the role model of Arnab.
