Amer Fort is one of the the most beautiful and main tourist attractions in Jaipur. This is located in Amer which is a a town with an area of 4 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi)), 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) from Jaipur in Rajasthan state, India. The well known Maotha Lake is situated right in front of Amber Fort in Jaipur which providing a double image of the fort on many days. Amer Fort looks stunning from every aspect and there is beautiful exterior with plastered red sandstone which seems like white marble.

You can see numerous paintings and artworks in interior, all of those offers a rich look for the building. There are special Hunting murals on the walls and exquisite glass and mirror work in the rooms. In the Amber Fort, you can see Sheesh Mahal or the Palace of Mirrors. This is a delightful hall with numerous mirrors and is famous world wide.

Special features of this hall is, this is constructed in a way that the single ray of light enters the Mahal would be replicated in the mirrors and the entire hall would have a natural light up and the view is very beautiful. This special hall made with thousands of mirror tiles and color glasses on wall and ceiling.

The pillars are huge with uniquely designed flower carved at its base. View of flowers from different angles will surprise you with different colors. Meaning of Sheesh Mahal is “mirrored”. The unbelievable beauty is assured with patterned mosaics, coloured glass and mirrors all over the walls and ceiling.

All this attracts attracts thousands of tourists every year to this place. There is need of only one candle to light the entire hall of fort. The Rambagh Palace in Jaipur is situated fairly close to Fort Amber. Those who come to Jaipur can combine the fort with other area monuments to get a great feel.
