Google’s Street View Cameras Updated First Time in Eight Years

Google has upgraded its google street view camera with  clearer, higher in resolution, and more vivid in color photo’s after first time in eight years. Like their older design, the camera will attach to a car with seven cameras fitted with 20 megapixel sensors.

Google’s Street View Camera was launched in 2007 and it allows users to view the panoramic view of the places. Photograph’s are taken by car, trekker, tricycle, walking, boat, snowmobile, and underwater apparatus. It is available as a web application as well as a mobile application for android and ios.

The street view camera will catch HD quality images from each side and give it to the google’s image recognition algorithm which will detect and note the street names, opening hour of the shop, shop names, etc that is displayed on store windows. Automatic blurring of faces and licence plates are also possible in google street view camera’s.

Also google has used Artificial intelligence and  machine learning techniques to  scan Street View data to answer conversational queries. Google Street View has been taking photos since 2007, including million miles of roads, covering 39 countries and about 3,000 cities.
