Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd. (PVPL) is the Italian Piaggio Group’s 100 per cent Indian subsidiary. They have recently launched the Piaggio Ape Xtra Dlx face lifted version of its successful diesel three-wheeler in India for Rs 1.75 Lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
Piaggio Ape Xtra Dlx vehicle is targeted at the passenger segment. This is a very special vehicle packed with a complete revamp including a new paint treatment. The three wheeler equipped with new body design, instrument cluster headlamps and boot chassis.
Piaggio Ape Xtra Dlx offers offers 36-38 kmpl mileage. Piaggio Vehicles Private Ltd. (PVPL) has a 32 per cent share in the country’s three-wheeler market. Among this 29 per cent is in the passenger segment and 57 per cent is in the cargo segment.
Piaggio Ape Xtra Dlx powered by a 436cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, diesel motor. This is a single cylinder naturally aspirated air cooled engine. This can assures 7.4HP power and 18 NM torque on ride. Engine mated to Constant mesh gears (4F + 1R) for a smooth ride. Suspension used in front and rear is best for assuring good stability on ride.
Piaggio Ape Xtra Dlx used Drum brakes in front and rear for good safety. The vehicle measures 2,940mm in length, 1,465mm in width, 1,840mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,920mm for a smooth and stable ride. This assures ground clearance of 240mm and has a kerb weight of 420 kg.
