The most awaited Royal Enfield Himalayan bike has just launched in India. This was one of the most anticipated launch for 2016. This is priced 1.55 Lakh (ex-showroom, Munbai) and 1.78 Lakh (On-Road). The bike not be sold in Delhi City as it is not BS4 compliant.
Royal Enfield now working on the BS4 compliant version, which should be ready to go on sale by April 2017. This Adventure bike comes with the Official Tagline “Purpose-Built for Adventure”. You can choose from Granite Black, Snow White colors.
There is also Half-duplex split cradle frame. The bike powered by 411 cc Single cylinder 4 stroke, LS400 overhead cam engine (air-cooled, SOHC engine). This engine makes 24.5 BHP @ 6500 rpm power and 32 NM @ 4000-4500 rpm torque on ride.
Engine features Air-cooling and Carburettor with throttle position sensor Fuel System. There is TCi, multi-curve Ignition. Engine mated to 5 Speed Constant Mesh gears and features Wet, multi-plate clutch. You have 300mm Disc, 2-piston floating caliper Front Brake.
Rear gets 240mm Disc, 1-piston floating caliper Rear Brake. There is also Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). Suspension used is 41mm Telescopic Forks Front Suspension in front. Rear suspension is Mono-shock with linkage Rear Suspension type.
The bike looks hot and measures 2190 mm Overall Length x 840 mm Overall Width x 1360 mm Overall Height. Royal Enfield Himalayan features 220 mm Ground Clearance, 1465 mm Wheelbase, 182 kg Wet Weight and a 15 litres Fuel Tank. There is also LED Tail Light and Halogen Head Light Type.
There is Analog – Speedometer, Tachometer, Trip Meter, Fuel Gauge etc. You have Digital – Odometer, Clock, Compass too. Royal Enfield Himalayan supports Low Oil Indicator and Low Battery Indicator, Electric Start, Pass Light, Pillion Footrest and 12V H4 60/55 W (the headlight is chassis mounted, it doesn’t turn with the handlebar) Head Light.
