Siddivinayak Temple, Mumbai – Complete Travel Information & Historical Details

Shree Siddhivinayak temple is one of the the famous and richest temples in the country. They receive huge amounts of donations and this is approx Rs 100 million to 150 million a year from corners of the world.The original Siddivinayak Temple was a modest 3.6 sq.m. brick structure.

Later the temples transformed to a generous one by using the donation of a rich Agri woman named Deubai Patil. The temple is built by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil on November 19, 1801.The inner roof of the sanctum is plated with gold. The Siddhivinayak Mandir visited by great politicians and Bollywood film stars to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

Near Siddhivinayak complex, there is a playground which was formed by filling up a 19th century lake. There is a Hanuman temple in the complex which was built in 1952. There is a Hanuman idol. The Siddhivinayak Ganesha idol is quite unique and unusual. Main features of the idol is that it is carved out of a single black stone in which the Ganesha’s trunk to the right instead of left.

Siddhivinayak is well known as “Navasacha Ganapati” or “Navasala Pavanara Ganapati”.This Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shri Ganesh and located at Prabhadevi, Mumbai, Maharashtra. This is one of the Mumbai city’s richest temple trust. There is no method for selection of staff. This is only based on recommendation or reference by trustees or the minister or a political heavy-weight, generally belonging to ruling party”.
