Here is the list of Top 10 Best Safari Parks in USA.  A safari park is a wildlife park which is not the real zoo. These parks offers commercial drive-in tourist attraction. Visitors can drive their own vehicles to observe freely roaming animals. There will be large animals from Sub-Saharan Africa such as giraffes, lions, rhinoceros, zebras, ostriches, elephants, hippopotamus and antelope. There will be other associated tourist attractions like golf courses, cafes/restaurants, carnival rides, ridable miniature railways, and gift shops.

1. Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center – Divide, Colo.

The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center is a non-profit organization certified by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). They providing excellent care for animal. You need to reserve for all of their tours. They only able to accommodate 35-40 people on our tours so you can make reservations on our website. Guests 18 years old and healthy can have an option of adding on an Alpha Tour to their reservation, so they can enter an enclosure with two staff members and have about 15 photos taken.

2. Lee G. Simmons Wildlife Safari Park – Ashland, Neb.

The Lee G. Simmons Conservation Park and Wildlife Safari is a famous drive-through park. This is located in the Omaha area near the town of Ashland, Nebraska, United States. The Park features dozens of native North American animals. This list includes bison, elk, cranes and new Wolf Canyon. This park affiliated with Henry Doorly Zoo.

3. Fossil Rim Wildlife Center – Glen Rose, Texas

The Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is a famous endangered species research and conservation center. This is located near Glen Rose, Texas. There are over 1,000 animals from 50 species. This is one of the best park in US. Bearizona is approximately 160 acres. Visitors can enjoy the park at their own pace and spend approximately two hours for the entire Bearizona adventure. You can drive through more than three miles of Ponderosa Pine Forest viewing North American animals. They live in their natural habitats. There is a beautiful 20 acre walk-thru area, along winding paths. This is a more of a “zoo” type setting.

6. B. Bryan Preserve – Point Arena, Calif.

B Bryan Preserve is a well known park  committed to the breeding and conservation of African Hoof Stock. They are the best to raise, breed and study Roan, Sable and Greater Kudu Antelope as well as Grevy’s and Hartmann’s Mountain Zebra and the Rothschild’s Giraffe. The park is found by Dr. Frank Mello and his wife, Judy. They encourage visitors to take an interest in the conservation of some of the most magnificent animals on the planet.

7. Lion Country Safari – Loxahatchee, Fla.

This is one of the best and famous drive-through safari park. The park is located in Loxahatchee (near West Palm Beach), in Palm Beach County, Florida. It is Founded in 1967 and said to be the first ‘cageless zoo’ in the United States. Lion Country is the 3rd best zoo in the nation. Visitors should get a ticket and enter the park in their own vehicle. So you can driving slowly and view the animals. 

8. Safari West – Santa Rosa, Calif.

Safari West is a famous and one of the best 400-acre (160 ha) private wildlife preserve. This is located in Sonoma County, California, United States. There are many species native to Africa. The list includes giraffes, rhinoceros, cheetahs, and lots of birds. The park offers breeding programs with other parks to keep the gene pool healthy. This is one of the six accredited private zoos in the United States. 

9. African Safari Wildlife Park – Port Clinton, Ohio

This is a well known drive through wildlife park in Port Clinton, Ohio, United States. Those who visit here can drive through the 100-acre (40 ha) preserve. There is facility to watch and feed the animals from their car.  There is another facility to walk through part of the park. This area is called Safari Junction. The wildlife park park is closed during the winter. This park got accreditation by Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

10. The Wilds – Cumberland, Ohio

The Wilds is a well known private, non-profit safari park and conservation center. They offer high quality conservation science and education programs. You can enjoy activities like  ziplining, horseback riding, fishing and more here. This safari park is located in Cumberland, Ohio. There are many rare and endangered species from the globe. All these animals are living in natural, open-range habitats. There is a special birding station, butterfly habitat with hiking trails, mountain bike and hiking trails and around 150 lakes. This is the largest wildlife conservation center in North America. You can visit here between the months of May and October.
