2014 auto expo witnessed the unveiling of much awaited and  anticipated bikes and scooters for 2014 in India. The previous expectations about the launching of prefixed models were not as accurate as in case of the Bjajaj. The company surprised every one with the launch of SS400 and CS 400. TVS for the first time grabbed all the attention to their products by powerful and stunning launch of TVS Draken concept bike.

The Hero was the “Hero” in 2014 auto expo and hope continues to be the same in 2014 through out. The much awaited models are two powerful sports bikes, Hero HX250R and Hero Hastur. Also showcased Hero RnT Diesel hybrid scooter and new variant for Hero CBZ Xtreme. The two powerful rivals launched together in scooter segment, Yamaha Alpha and Honda activa 125. 1. Bajaj Pulsar SS 400

Bajaj Pulsar SS 400India’s most loved Pulsar series from the Bajaj surprised every one by showcasing the Bajaj Pulsar SS 400 at the 2014 auto expo along with the CS 400. The bike shares the 375cc  four-stroke and single-cylinder engine which is the powerful 390 Duke engine. Engine Features  liquid-cooling, four-valve heads and mated with six-speed gears.

Style and performance of the  Bajaj Pulsar SS 400  will be highest among the all pulsar series bikes. There is an  aggressive, dual-headlights in SS400. Bajaj Pulsar SS 400 also features Standard Clip-on handlebars, sculpted tanks and body cowls, sporty split seat, Smart alloy wheels etc. Suspension used in SS400 is  telescopic fork front suspension in  front and use monoshock suspension setups at the rear.

2. Yamaha Alpha

Yamaha AlphaThe much awaited Yamaha Alpha Unisex Scooter launched in India at auto expo 2014. The new automatic scooter from Yamaha made as a  family scooter. The Yamaha Alpha Unisex Scooter looks stylish and little  larger than the Ray or the Ray Z. It is available in single variant and attractive five color shades of Black, Grey, White, Red and magenta. Yamaha Alpha powered by the air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine.

The engine can churns out 7.1 PS/7500 rpm power and 8.1Nm /5000 rpm torque on ride. The engine mated with with CVT (Continuous variable transmission) option. The company claimed mileage of the Yamaha Alpha is 62kmpl on ride.  The engine is the same which is using in Yamaha Ray and Ray Z scooters. The scooter is easy to ride and handle for women as it is equipped with easy leg reach. The suspension used is telescopic suspension which is in easy reach and upright type rear suspension is also offers good stability.

3. TVS Draken

TVS Draken 250ccTVS launched the Draken 250cc Concept Bike recently in Motor show. The bike showcased as a single variant only with white color theme body. We can Hope for more attractive shades and variants on actual launch. This 250cc Street-Fighter comes with a powerful 4-valve, DOHC  engine. It is equipped with a high performance reverse free flow exhaust system. TVS Draken powered by the 249.2cc Short-Stroke, Liquid-cooled, Race Inspired engine with liquid-cooling.

It can churns out 38.50 bhp of power at 12,000 rpm. The torque produced is  23 nm of torque at 9500 rpm. The bike is fuel efficient also as it gives you 33.3 km/l on ride. The concept bike comes with an underbelly exhaust and perimeter frame. The suspension used is Inverted telescopic suspension in front and  mono shock suspension at the back. The 1340.00 mm Wheelbase and fatty tyres are good for ensuring stability. The brakes are front and rear disc brakes with optional ABS.

4. Hero HX250R

Hero HX250RHero HX250R is an upcoming powerful sports bike will be a powerful rival against the Honda CBR250R. This bike looks extremely interesting from all sides. Standard Clip-on handlebar, split seats, large fuel tank,  LED tail light and sleek under-seat exhaust system are other features. This 250cc Street-Fighter comes with ‘lightning bolt’ design theme. Front gets twin headlights with daytime running lights, stylish front visor, wide fairing mounted mirror etc. The speedometer, tachometer, engine temperature, fuel gauge and trip meters are fully digital.

The bike powered by the 4-Stroke, Single Cylinder, DOHC engine. The engine can churns out 31 BHP @ 9000 rpm power & 26 NM torque on ride. The engine mated with 6 Speed gears transmission. The bike equipped with Multi-plate Wet clutch & alloys. The engine is powerful with 81/48.5 bore and stroke. The braking is excellent with the 300mm disc brake, with three-piston calipers in front, and a 220mm rear disc brake. Adding to the safety at high speed fitted combined braking system and optional ABS.

5. Suzuki Gixxer

Suzuki GixxerSuzuki Gixxer is said to be the best affordable and available 150cc bike in this segment with most distinctive stylish looks. The bike is different in term of styling in this class with a chiselled tank and 140 section rear tyre. The upswept tail piece and that twin-holed, large oval exhaust is offering a big street presence for the bike.Powering this 150cc bike is a fuel efficient engine. Suzuki Gixxer  powered by a 4-Stroke, 1-cylinder, SOHC engine. The special feature is that it equipped with new piston and combustion chamber design.

For safety it comes with Telescopic front suspension. It can make you stable without getting easy fatigue on long ride. The rear fitted with Monoshock rear suspension. The breaking is Front disc and rear Drum Brakes. The power and torque figure of the Gixxer not yet confirmed, and we hope for good figure. Other features of Suzuki Gixxer are Self start, alloys, tubeless tyres, Low fuel and battery indicator, High Oil Temp. Indicator etc.

6. Bajaj Pulsar CS 400

Bajaj Pulsar CS400Bajaj Pulsar CS 400 is also unveiled by the Bajaj at the 2014 auto expo along with the SS 400. Powering the Bajaj Pulsar CS 400  is the same efficient 375cc  four-stroke and single-cylinder engine which is the powerful  390 Duke engine. But the CS 400 is only just unveiled the production details and full technical specs are still not clear. The Pulsar CS 400 said to be the power cruiser, with stylish smoother lines and minimal but hot bodywork.

The headlight in this model is single, purposeful looking headlight. There is a  flat set handlebar, Sporty, compact cockpit layout, sculpted tanks and body cowl,  stepped saddle seat for riders comfort. Engine Features  liquid-cooling, four-valve heads and mated with six-speed gears. The suspension is  upside down telescopic forks in front and use monoshock suspension setups at the rear. The brakes are standard Single, drilled disc brakes with ABS.

7. Honda Activa 125

Honda Activa 125The all new Honda Activa 125 showcased in the 2014 auto expo. The activa stylish looks retained with its clear winkers, new front chrome bar, and bright crowned headlight.  . The rear of the scooter upgraded with the  an all new grab rail and reworked tail lamps. It gets a Old school analogue console. Other changes are stepped rear seat, blackened headlight crown, Tuff up tyres, exterior tweaks with new turn indicators, new grab rail at the rear, reworked tail lights.

The Honda Activa 125 packed with a powerful 124.9 cc engine. This engine features 125cc Displacement. It can churns out power outputs of 8.6 bhp at 6,500 rpm and torque of 10.12 Nm at 5,500 rpm on ride. Engine mated with Automatic gears transmission. The Activa 125 gets a combi-brake system and added optional disc brake for stability and safety of passenger on ride along with special tubeless tires. The Activa 125 gets Bottom Link with spring loaded hydraulic damper suspension in front and Unit swing with spring loaded hydraulic damper at rear.

8. Hero Hastur

Hero HasturHero Hastur is an upcoming 620cc Concept bike from the Hero. This naked super 620cc bike unveiled recently in the 2014 Auto Expo by the Hero Motocorp . Hero Hastur have a stylish Twin-Halogen headlamp and Maintenance Free battery. There is also alloys, tubeless tyres and this bike will be available in Grey/Yellow colour shades. The modern street-fighter styling enhanced by the twin projector beam headlights, LED running lights, integrated LED winkers and LED tail lights.

The Hero Hastur 620cc Concept bike powered by the 620cc water cooled parallel twin engine. The engine features 620cc engine displacement. It can churns out 80 PS @ 9600 rpm power and 72 NM @ 7750 rpm torque on ride. The engine mated with 6 Speed gears transmission. Top attraction is 0-100 km/hr acceleration  in 3.8 seconds and the hastur can attain the top speed of 240 km/hr. For safety the Hero Hastur equipped with Disc brakes in front and rear. There is also stand alarm, Step-up Seat, Pass-light, low fuel indicator, Low Oil Indicator, Low Battery Indicator.

9. Hero RnT Diesel

Hero RNT 150cc Diesel ScooterHero RnT Diesel unveiled by the Hero Motocorp company.  This 150c diesel scooter comes with a rugged, utilitarian and highly practical design. Powering this super scooter is a 150cc Turbo Diesel, 4-stroke engine. It can churns out 13.5 BHP @ 4000 rpm power and 35 NM @ 1600 rpm torque on ride. There is a 2WD via optional electric front hub motor fitted in this scooter gives you 1KW power. The engine mated with 6 Speed efficient transmission.

The RNT scooter is equipped with removable secondary LED lights headlights. These headlights are comes with Li-ion battery. There is also front mounted LED main headlights, which can give you excellent visibility during ride even the front rack is loaded.The vehicle features special wide, flat loading surfaces with strap bars. There is also swell fitted multi use folding front, rear and side racks.

10. Hero Xtreme Sports

Hero Xtreme SportsHero MotoCorp introduced a new a new stylish and powerful variant for the famous bike CBZ Xtreme, it is called Hero Xtreme Sports.  Powering this Hero Xtreme Sports is a 149.2cc, air-cooled engine. It can churns out more power and torque. The engine can gives you 15.2 BHP of power at 8500 RPM. The torque produced is 12.80 Nm @ 6500 RPM. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox offers smooth transmission. For safety the Hero Xtreme Sports equipped with the telescopic front forks suspension and 5-step adjustable twin shocks suspension at the rear.

The bike features good clearance of 160mm. The bike comes with stylish 80/100/18 front tyres and 110/90/18 tyre  at the rear. This will be the most powerful 150cc motorcycle in India with 15.2bhp power production. The Hero Xtreme Sports available as standard one with front disc and rear drum brakes. There will be a rear-disc brake variant too which is featured by  220 mm rear disc. The Hero Xtreme will be available in 5 attractive color shades.
