The much awaited Yamaha Alpha Unisex Scooter launched in India (at auto expo 2014) today for a price tag of Rs. 49, 518/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new automatic scooter from Yamaha made as a family scooter. It is also known as Cygnus Alpha.
The scooter comes with the tag line “Easy to go and high utility city mover”. The scooter will be marketed by Yamaha Motor India Sales (YMIS). It will be a powerful rival against Honda Activa and the Suzuki Access.

The Yamaha Alpha Unisex Scooter looks stylish and little larger than the Ray or the Ray Z. The scooter made for those who focus on utility than design. The scooter available in single variant and attractive five color shades of Black, Grey, White, Red and magenta.

Engine Performance and Mileage
Yamaha Alpha powered by the air-cooled 4-stroke 113cc engine. The engine can churns out 7.1 PS/7500 rpm power and 8.1Nm /5000 rpm torque on ride. The scooter comes with good mileage and excellent engine performance.
The engine mated with with CVT (Continuous variable transmission) option. The company claimed mileage of the Yamaha Alpha is 62kmpl on ride. The engine is the same which is using in Yamaha Ray and Ray Z scooters.
