Engine is Stronger and offering more horse power(30% extra) and produces More luggage power and less pollution. Diesel is the best efficient available fuel and it is Energy dense and durable than petrol fuel. Diesel engine free of spark plug or distributors and helps in Avoids the elimination of ignition tune-ups.

Diesel and Petrol cars

It is also More capable to withstand the rigors of higher compression and ensures Long vehicle life (300,000 miles) than Petrol powered ones. There is only Less need of maintenance works and repairs and High resale value for diesel engine powered vehicles. You get More torque to the driveshaft than petrol engine. It is Faster and good speed than petrol cars and also Cheaper than gasoline or petrol (based on country).

Diesel Engine Powered cars Cons/Disadvantages

  • Fuel Price of Diesel raising as equal to Petrol
  • Diesel powered vehicles are costly than petrol ones
  • Difficult to start fast in cold weather
  • Increased demand of diesel creating high competition
  • No mileage economy with the 25-30% more priced diesel fuel
  • Not sending the heat out the tailpipe
  • No flashy high-speed performance as petrol cars
  • Diesel engine is slower than Petrol ones
  • Need to change the oil, air, fuel filters
  • Need regular maintenance
  • Some vehicles requires manual emptying of water separators
  • Repairing charge (fuel injection breakdown) is high than a petrol engine

These are the most listed pros and cons of diesel engine and powered vehicles ever, but still a lot of people are loving diesel engines and vehicles. But increasing fuel price and most of the time equal to the price of petrol or gasoline removes all these fuel economy related advantages. Most of the trucks, industries and factories using this fuel in high amount making this one more demand wrapped fuel. Most of them refusing to buy a diesel car because it is heavier, more smoke producing, funny smelling, noisier with vibration and costlier than petrol powered ones.

Petrol Engine powered vehicles Pros/Advantages

Getting confused with the selection of diesel or petrol engine still. I may suggest a diesel vehicle only if some one ask with me. Because even if you purchased a low cost petrol car or vehicle, within one year itself you may have to spend too much money for fuel and other terms of work to make your petrol car well stable. So why cant you buy a new and little more costly diesel car which is economically friendly too with less pollution. All automobile giants still preferring a diesel engine for their latest models including the Volkswagen rolled out the Touareg V10 TD and Chrysler Jeep Liberty powered by a diesel engine.

  1. I like to play Minecraft and this gave me a new idea in creating a new mod for petrol and diesel cars in my server!

  2. It’s good to know that diesel engines need less maintenance than other types of vehicles. I am a very forgetful person, so I need a very low-maintenance vehicle so that I don’t break it so quickly. However, it would be nice to know what kinds of maintenance is needed. Do they need something like an oil change every once in awhile?

  3. I had no idea that diesel fuel is 25-30% more fuel efficient than petrol. I can see why this would be a good reason to consider getting a car with this type of gas. My dad has been wanting to get a truck to be able to haul things with. I’ll have to talk to him to see if he is thinking about getting one with diesel or regular gas.

  4. My husband is thinking about investing in a new car. He’s been debating about getting one that uses diesel fuel. It’s good to now that we could have 25-30% better fuel economy if he gets that kind of vehicle.

  5. Sir I think u have to research more on petrol engines as petrol engines never emit co2 a lot they are environmental friendly engines as well as the maintenance of a petrol car is very low compared to disel one as I maintain both type of fuel cars I feel the best option to buy a car is petrol but it’s the customers choice to opt out but I would like to suggest one point …. If a customer wants to buy a car for longs trips then disel car is the best eg 50 KMS a day 1500 kilometres a month then disel is the best car to buy ….as it will work out very cheap for him .If a customer wants to buy a car for short trips or city driving then petrol is the best option eg 20 KMS a day 600 kilometres a month then petrol engine will best the best choice ……
Overall if a customer has to purchase a car according to his needs he must also calucalte how much he drives then and only must purchase the car ….Finally I would suggest or prefer customers to purchase petrol powerd cars because
1 refined engine smooth delivery of the car and hassle free /maintenance free
2 no turbolag as in disel powerd cars
3 no need to press the throttle a lot and waste the fuel as in disel cars
4 can be serviced in any service station’s / garage fault can be easily identified when compared to disel powered cars …..
That’s it so purchase the best and satisfying car according to ur needs and enjoy riding ………

    • Sir iam sorry u are right about petrol emmiting more carbon-dioxide then diesel but that black smoke from diesel car is what may I know ???

  6. I didn’t realize that a diesel vehicle could get up to 30% better fuel economy than a petrol vehicle. This would be a huge money saver because you wouldn’t need to be filling up your vehicle nearly as often. We’ve been looking for a new car since our last one died about a week ago so knowing this will definitely help us make a decision.

    • 30% fuel saving from diesel is too optimistic. Real world figures are more in the range of 15-20% on average since modern fuel-injection petrol engines are getting more and more efficient.
