All About Common Admission Test (CAT – IIM)
CAT is a Common Admission Test organised by Indian Institute of Management. It is common test which examines a persons Quantitative ability, Data interpretation,verbal ability and logical reasoning. CAT is one of the toughest examination after IIT-JEE and other UPSC based engineering examinations. These exams are conducted for selecting candidates for business administration levels.
The candidate should be a graduate with atleast 50% marks or CGPA (45% for candidates belonging to SC/ST and Physically Handicapped. Candidates who are appearing for the final examination and those who have completed the graduation and also those who are awaiting for results can apply the same. The candidate after being selected should submit certificate stating that he/she has completed the graduation and get all the required copies of certificates latest from Principal or Registrar of his/her school. The candidate must attain a valid e-mail account and phone number followed by the selection process.
Government of India has decided upto 15% seat reserved for SC and 7 1/2 for ST candidates. 27% seats are fixed for OBC. For getting more detailed information log onto the website http://www.ncbc.nic.in . NC-OBC category castes in central list can login to http://www.ncbc.nic.in
As per Government of India latest act, it will be entertained(last day of registration). Besides this 3% is reserved for physically handicapped candidates. Disability is of three categories: low-vision/blindness, hearing impairment, and locomotor disability/cerebral palsy. There will be no changes after the closure of registration.
Special Focus on SC/st, NC-OBC, DA candidates
A candidate belonging to SC/ST as per Government of India nominations caste certificate should be issued in Government approved format clearly stating Name of caste/tribe, Whether you belong to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe; District and the State or Union Territory of your ordinary residence; and the appropriate Government of India schedule under which your caste/tribe is approved by it as Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.

FOR IIM kozhikode (Calicut)
A duplicate copy must be send to IIM kozhikode CAT Center C/O Admissions Office, Indian Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, IIM Kozhikode Campus P.O, Kunnamangalam, Kozhikode- 673 570, Kerala, INDIA. You should also state the Voucher Serial Number on the certificate. In case of Failure introducing a copy of the caste certificate will result in the rejection of your CAT registration. A photocopy along with caste certificate must be enclosed at the time of interview. Also the caste certificate must be introduced at the time of joining the IIM institution.
