1. Sarovaram Biopark

Sarovaram Biopark is the only eco-friendly biopark in Kerala. The park protects mangrove forests and wetlands. There are facilities like Otter Park, open air theatre, Butterfly Park, canal walkway, boating facilities, bird sanctuary, board-walk, musical fountain, aquarium, floating rafts, etc. This is located just 6 km from Kozhikode railway station.

2. Kappad Beach

Kappad Beach is a historically important place. 500 years ago in 1498 Vasco- da- Gama first stepped onto Kerala through this beach. This was the spice route in ancient time. Enjoy a walk in and around the place. There are beautiful rocks and small hills. Enjoy local delicacies and tea by watching migratory birds. The place is just 35 km, via NH 17 from calicut railway station. 

3. Kozhikode Beach

Kozhikode Beach is one of the famous tourist spot in Kozhikode. You can enjoy the view the sunset from the beach. You will get fresh supply of seafood like Kallumakaya (mussels)which is a local favourite. One can see playful dolphins from the Dolphins Point at dawn. There is a large lighthouse and two piers opening to sea. Lions Park and marine water aquarium is just nearby. This is just 3km from Kozhikode railway station.

4. Thusharagiri Falls

The Thusharagiri as the name suggests comprises of mist capped peaks. This famous Waterfalls can be reached via a trek through dense evergreen forests. You can watch exotic birds and animals. This is connected to Vythiri in Wayanad. You can visit plantations of rubber, arecanut, pepper, ginger and spices through the way. This is just 50 km from Kozhikode railway station.

5. Beypore Beach

Beypore beach is located at the mouth of river Chaliyar. This is located approx 10 kilometres away from Kozhikode town. In ancient time this was the route of trade and transactions for merchants. You should visit the beautiful 1,500 years old tradition of shipbuilding industry here. 

6. SM Street (sweetmeat street)

Sweet Meat Street or Mithai Theruvu is one of the famous and busiest street in Kozhikode. Name for the street obtained from the presence of numerous sweet meat (halwa) stalls here. This street now sell anything and everything wanted by people. This is located just 500 m from Kozhikode railway station.

7. Tali Temple

This temple is believed to be Built in the 14th century by Swamy Thirumulpad. This is also famous as the venue of Revathy Pattathanam event. The Tali Temple is a beautifully made structure with wood and laterite in Kerala style of architecture. There are intricate brass-relief on the walls. This is just  800 meters away from the railway station. 

8. Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary

The Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is located near the Kadalundi River and this area is locally known as Kadalundi Nagaram. You can see hundred species of native birds and over 60 species of migratory birds here. The list includes seagulls, terns, sandpipers, sandplovers, red and greenshanks, turnstones etc. The season is from November to April. There is also wide mangrove vegetation, variety of fish, mussels and crabs. You can enjoy view of the river mouth and the sea from a hillock nearby, which is 200 m above sea level. This is about 19 km from the railway station.

9. Mananchira Square

Mananchira Square is at the center of Kozhikode city. There is huge Mananchira Tank collects natural water. This is Built by Mana Vikrama and still continues to supply water. The nearby place is now converted into a park. There is a musical fountain inside the maidan. You can rest in landscaped lawns and traditional buildings in the Kerala style. Kozhikode Public Library is just near to this. This is located just 2km from railway station. 

10. Regional Science Centre & Planetarium

The Regional Science Centre and Planetarium in Kozhikode offers 250 seats to explore the secrets of the universe, the planets and the stars. This is Started in 1997 and conducts almost 1200 shows annually. They are using projection system from Carl Zeiss in Germany. The Science Centr boasts of Science Exhibition Galleries, Mobile and Travelling Science Exhibitions. There is a High Definition 3D Theatre too. Visiting hours from 10:30 – 18:30 hrs. The place is just 4 km from railway station.
