National Games of India – 2015

The official opening of the 35th National Games will start from 31/01/2015. This event taking place in Kerala from 31 January to 14 February. Indian Cricket Legend Sachin Tendulkar has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador. Ammu, the Great Indian Hornbill is the official mascot of the 2015 National games of India.

The last edition of the National games held in Jharkand in 2011. Teams from various competing States have started arriving at various entry points in Kerala. This is the 35th National Games of India – 2015 held at Kerala, India. Get Set Play is the motto. 

The Games Village is constructed based on the novel concept of Prefabricated Housing Technology. There is total of 365 pre-fab houses occupying 5 athletes per room while team officials and coaches will be allocated single or double rooms. 

This is the second time that Kerala is hosting the national games after it hosted the 27th National Games in 1987. The opening ceremony of 35th National games will be at Green field stadium Karyavattam, Trivandrum on 31st January 2015 at 6.00 PM. Union minister of urban development Shri Venkaiah Naidu will inaugurate the opening. 

for National Games of India – 2015, Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Services, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Karnataka, Manipur, Goa, and Odisha reached in capital city – Thiruvananthapuram

Kannur is the hosting for the wrestling and basketball matches. Teams from Manipur, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh reached here.

Beach volleyball, football and volleyball teams from West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Telangana and Uttarakhand reached Kozhikode on Thursday for National Games of India – 2015. 

In Ernakulam, Teams from Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Bihar, and Odisha have arrived for yachting, lawn bowls, fencing, badminton, table tennis, and archery contests.

At Alappuzha, 18-member rowing team from Odisha coasted on Wednesday evening and the 19-member Services team landed on Wednesday night. Teams from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh also reached there for National Games of India – 2015. 

In Kollam teams from the Services, hosts Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, UP, Uttarakhand, Gujarat and Karnataka reached.
