Piaggio NT3 Four Wheeler Concept City Car review 

The famous Italian scooter maker Piaggio unveiled its four wheeler, concept city car NT3 at the 2014 auto expo. This is a hybrid version is a low-cost, three-seat car which is a powerful rival against the Tata Nano and some entry level Maruti Suzuki. It will launch soon in India by around 2014 last or 2015 first.

From external it comes with the traditional four-wheel design and interior features a three-seat layout. The NT3 features comfortable seats, central driving position and twin spots. The NT3 measures 2400 mm x 1500 mm x 1600 mm in terms of dimensions.

Piaggio NT3 concept is based on the Piaggio’s three-wheel Ape commercial vehicle. The company targeting middle class buyers in the southern Europe and India. Even though it is a four wheeler car you can use it as a multi-purpose vehicle. For safety it will equipped with Front Disk, Rear Drum brakes.

The NT3 said to be the Futuristic ‘Rickshaw’ it share common features as Tata Nano, Magic, Bajaj ULC etc. This is a  prototype of an innovative vehicle which aims managing  future consumer needs at low cost. The four wheeler NT3 have three seats with the driver placed in a central forward seat alignment.

Powering the NT3 is a  230 cc or 350 gasoline engine. You can expect for a more powerful 350cc hybrid version too in future.  The NT3 can attain top speed of 80 km/h. It is fuel efficient and may give up to 33 km to the liter. Another special feature is the eco-sustainability as it makes up to 70 g CO2/km only on ride.

Expected Launch – November 2018


  1. Excellent concept….designed keep in view the congested condition of our Indian roads….truly suited for day to day commute to and from office and running small errands.
    The launch of this vehicle is getting delayed due to sanction issue from the Indian Govt. Hopefully the same will get resolved soon enough (i.e if the Govt can release itself from the clutches of the strong Auto Makers lobby).
    Would love to buy one in Kolkata…………as and when the same is launched…..
