PSA or Groupe PSA
PSA or Groupe PSA is known as a French multinational producer of both automobiles as well as motorcycles, which was founded on April 1976 and headquartered in Paris, France. The key people are Carlos Tavares (CEO and Chairman of the management board) and Thierry Peugeot (Chairman of the supervisory board). They will become Europe’s second largest automaker. One of their vision is to become a leading car manufacturer.
Their specialty includes logistics, automotive equipment, car maker, R&D, design, automobile manufacturing, hybrid, mobility, electric vehicle, automotive, engine, innovation, lean manufacturing, Peugeot, Citroën, technology etc. The company has three car brands such as DS, Peugeot and Citroën. The Groupe PSA sold their automobiles and motorcycles under these automobile brands. There are 620,000 vehicles they sold in China and South Asia in the year 2016. The company has always been a forerunner in virtuous technology deployment.
Peugeot and Citroën vehicles have won many awards for their vehicles. They have won seven times the European Car of the Year award, 12 times the “Car of the year” Auto Europa award in Italy. They also won 18 times the “car of the year” in Spain, and five times the “Irish Car of the Year” award. European car of the year award winners are 1969 – Peugeot 504, 1971 – Citroën GS, 1975 – Citroën CX, 1988 – Peugeot 405, 1990 – Citroën XM, 2002 – Peugeot 307, 2014 – Peugeot 308 and 2017 – Peugeot 3008 II.
They introduce a new engines and gearboxes that are always more efficient as well as safe to the environment. Currently, PSA Group and the CK Birla Group signed a joint venture agreement to manufacture and sell both vehicles and components in India by 2020.
