1. Bom Jesus Basilica
Bom Jesus Basilica is one of the famous Churches in Goa. It is built across the ruling period of Portuguese. It is one of the oldest and most attracted churches in Goa. This church is 10 kilometers east of Panaji, the capital state of Goa.
This Basilca is more famous for the relics of Saint Francis Xavier, who is said to be the founder of Christianity in Goa. He came to India to spread Christianity with the Portuguese.
In 1594 the construction on the basilica began and it was completed in 1605. There is a facade in the front of the church and which contains elements of Doric, Ionic and Corinthian design. Jesuit emblem of Latin Iesus Hominum Salvator is embellished on the central rectangular pediment of the facade. It is one of the World Heritage Monument of UNESCO World Heritage List.
This church is a Baroque architecture model. Strong curves, rich decoration, and general complexity are all typical features of Baroque art. The church gives one a glimpse into the life of the man said to be blessed with healing powers.
2. Se Cathedral – Velha
Se Cathedral is one of the ancient and the largest churches of Asia. It is located 9 km from Panaji and on the banks of the Mandovi River. People from all over the world come to visit this church and to take the blessings of God.
This church is dedicated to St. Catherine of Alexandria. She is a canonized saint in the Catholic Church. Christian tradition states she was of noble birth, possibly a princess. This church is built in Portuguese-Gothic style. The exterior of the church is constructed in the Tuscan style while the interiors have been constructed in the Corinthian style. The Cathedral stands on a raised plinth of laterite plastered with lime. The Tuscan exterior of the building will mesmerize you at first-sight. The facade was flanked by the two square towers built in the Manueline style. It is 98-ft high. The church is 250 feet in length and 181 feet in breath. The frontispiece stands 115 feet high.
3. St Francis of Assisi Church
St Francis of Assisi is one of the best tourist attractions in Goa. It is a roman catholic church situated in the main square of old Goa. It is situated 10 km east of Panaji in Goa.
This church was built in the year 1661 by the Portuguese Viceroy of India. Indian government converted the St. Francis of Assisi Church into a museum in 1964. Ancient relics and old paintings are now displayed here. Many people came here for taking the blessings of God.
The architecture of this church architectural style of the church has a mix of Christian and Hindu elements. There is a statue of St. Michael right at the entrance of the church. There are two statues above the tabernacle, one of St. Francis of Assisi and the other of the crucified Christ.

5. St. Cajetan’s Church
St. Cajetan’s Church is one of the most beautiful churches in Goa. It is located on the banks of the Mandovi River at Old Goa in Goa, India. It was originally called the Church of Our Lady of Divine Providence and the Convent of St. Cajetan.
The church is built in Corinthian style with gilded altars and carvings in rich Baroque style. A tall Corinthian columns support a pediment and four niches on the facade. In the niches are statues of the apostles of Jesus. The main altar is dedicated to Our Lady of Divine Providence. The other six, three to each side, are dedicated to the Holy family, Our Lady of Piety, St. Clare, St John, St. Cajetan and St. Agnes. The Church of St. Cajetan is the only domed church in Goa.
6. Chapel of St. Catherine

This chapel is dedicated to St. Catherine. St. Catherine was a Christian virgin and martyr whose feast is celebrated in the Latin Church. It was constructed in 1510 by the Portuguese Governor Afonso de Albuquerque.
The Church has a tower on either side of the facade. On one side of the Chapel has a stone inscription in Portuguese.
7. Church of Lady of Rosary – Gawli Wada
Church of Lady of Rosary is located in Gawli Wada to the west of the famous Basilica of Bom Jesus. Pope Leo XIII was particularly devoted to Our Lady of the Rosary. It is located in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Old Goa.
This church is the only church in Goa that comes with Renaissance architecture. It is the style of architecture, reflecting the rebirth of Classical culture.
